“It is just the most extraordinary piece of work” Territory Art CEO Leonie McNally Said “ It’s just this amazing intelligent thinking-intelligence and imagination have collided.” The dress was made by dropping thousands of brightly coloured threads onto sections of dissolvable fabric, which were sewn over dozens of times, then the fabric was dissolved to leave just the artwork. Carolyns inspiration for these unique designs come predominately from the topography of the Australian landscape, the flora and fauna of the Australian outback and the six seasons of Australia’s Top end. Carolyn’s; most recent wall hanging , Life on a Gum Tree (2008) was exhibited at Sydney Exhibition and Convention Centre in June 2009 and won the 2008 Northern Territory Best of Show Art Quilt Award.
